An upper level low/trough is just south of California with west southwest upper winds over West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. Upper lift and moisture have increased allowing for light rain to develop and move across the area. High temperatures today will be in the 40s and 50s with the surface high positioned just to the east. Rain chances will continue into tonight and Thursday. Temperatures are expected to remain above freezing tonight so precipitation will remain in the form of rain. The previously mentioned upper trough will move eastward over Arizona and New Mexico and will weaken on Thursday. Temperatures will warm up on Thursday with highs mostly in the 60s. The rain may continue into the evening hours on Thursday but is expected to be cleared out of the area by Friday morning. Mostly zonal flow will be across the region on Friday with a cold front impacting northern and eastern portions of the Permian Basin. An upper level trough will dig southward across the western part of the country on Saturday with temperatures warming up into mostly the 60s and 70s. The upper trough moves closer to the area on Sunday with a surface trough developing across portions of West Texas and Southeast New Mexico. Temperatures will warm up slightly from the previous day. The previously mentioned upper trough weakens and lifts northeastward towards Oklahoma on Monday. The passage of this trough brings in a Pacific front which will result in cooler temperatures with highs mostly in the 50s and 60s on Monday. Conditions on Tuesday and next Wednesday will be similar to those on Monday with another upper trough moving near/over the region. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
