From William Cole: At 1140 AM CDT, MesoScan Radar was tracking strong T-Storms along a line extending from near Blossom to 6 miles southwest of Bogata to near Mount Vernon. Movement was east at 40 mph. Nickel size hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms. Locations impacted include Mount Pleasant, Clarksville, Hagansport, Boxelder, Mount Vernon, Bogata, Wilkerson, Cookville, Bagwell, Detroit, Winfield, Talco, Annona, Miller’s Cove, Harts Bluff, Negley, Cuthand, English and Johntown. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
