HEAVY RAINS FROM CLAUDETTE PERSIST ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE SOUTHEASTERN UNITED STATES
At 100 AM CDT (0600 UTC), the center of Tropical Depression Claudette was located near latitude 32.9 North, longitude 86.7 West. The depression is moving toward the northeast near 13 mph (20 km/h). A turn toward the east-northeast is expected later today. On the forecast track, the system should cross portions of the southeast U.S. through Sunday night, and move over the coasts of the Carolinas into the western Atlantic Ocean on Monday.
