From William Cole: At 113 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Winnsboro to near Emory to near Garland. Movement was southeast at 30 mph. Strong thunderstorm outflow winds extended several miles ahead of the main squall line and will be capable of 30 to 40 mph winds. Wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with these storms. Locations impacted include… Dallas, Plano, Garland, Mesquite, McKinney, Frisco, Richardson, Allen, Rowlett, Wylie, Rockwall, Greenville, Balch Springs, Sachse, Terrell, Sulphur Springs, Seagoville, Forney, Kaufman and Gun Barrel City. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead to minor flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. If on or near Lake Lavon…Lake Ray Hubbard or Lake Tawakoni, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
