…ELEVATED FIRE THREAT FOR FAR WESTERN NORTH TEXAS AND PARTS OF CENTRAL TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON… WINDY AND WARM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TODAY WEST OF A LINE FROM BOWIE, TO GLEN ROSE, TO TEMPLE, TO HEARNE. GUSTY SOUTH WINDS 15 TO 20 MPH WILL COMBINE WITH TEMPERATURES NEAR OR ABOVE 80 DEGREES AND HUMIDITY VALUES BETWEEN 15 AND 25 PERCENT TO CREATE ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON. IN ADDITION, ERC-G VALUES REMAIN ELEVATED ACROSS PARTICULARLY YOUNG, STEPHENS, AND EASTLAND COUNTIES, AS WELL AS WESTERN JACK AND PALO PINTO COUNTIES. EXTREME CARE IS URGED DURING ALL OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES WHERE THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR GRASS FIRES TO GET STARTED. AVOID OUTSIDE BURNING AND WELDING. DO NOT TOSS LIT CIGARETTE BUTTS OUTSIDE. REPORT WILD FIRES TO THE NEAREST FIRE DEPARTMENT OR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICE QUICKLY.
