Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected the rest of this afternoon and through mid evening, generally along and southeast of a of a line from Sherman, to Weatherford, to Comanche. A few severe storms capable of producing large hail and damaging winds are possible across eastern Central Texas. A tornado cannot be ruled out across this area as well. Elsewhere, small hail may occur with stronger storms.
DFW TONIGHT…Cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms this evening, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows in the mid 50s. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent. -William

From William Cole: A Flood Advisory has been issued for Dallas & Tarrant Counties in the Metroplex until 4:00 PM. Ponding on the roadways and localized street flooding is possible.
At 1248 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Areas that are low lying or poor drainage areas will experience minor flooding in the advisory area.
Remember if you see water across a roadway do not drive through it. Turn Around Don’t Drown.

From William Cole: At 1238 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Dublin, moving northeast at 40 mph. Half inch hail and winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with this storm. Locations impacted include… Stephenville and Dublin. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This storm may intensify, so closely monitor for additional information or possible warnings from the National Weather Service. &&

An area of heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms is now quickly approaching from the West. Ponding on the roadways with street flooding will be possible with isolated pockets of smaller hail.
After several unseasonably cool days – the temperature trend is up stating Thursday and into next week as temperatures rebound back into the 80’s.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for our Eastern Counties through tonight. Locally heavy rain will aggravate flooding conditions in low-lying areas. If you live in an area prone to flooding stay alert as heavy rain moves into your area.
Rain and heavy rain chances will quickly increase this afternoon lingering into the early evening.
