Texas Weather Tracker TV's Ground Breaking History

Texas Weather Tracker TV was founded by owner and Chief Meteorologist, William Cole, a native Oklahoman and United State Navy Veteran.  Texas Weather Tracker TV was initially Oklahoma Weather Tracker and began as a website called OklahomaWeatherTracker.com which provided Oklahomans with live weather information around the clock.  William also had a large presence on social media, and he created the first live automated weather feeds in the nation for Twitter and Facebook to post real time watches and warnings.

As OklahomaWeatherTracker.com continued to grow and succeed it became clear to that it was time to make their content more readily available in form of a smartphone app. Oklahoma Weather Tracker determined its users would benefit more from a new and unique app with the same options that users enjoyed on the website and social media.  The app even produced more content.  The Oklahoma Weather Tracker mobile app would go on to become Oklahoma's Leading Weather App and when you searched "Oklahoma Weather" in the app stores was ranked first ahead of all of the local Oklahoma City TV affiliates.

In 2015, research showed newer and more innovative ways to provide live and local weather information in the form of a live streaming video channel. That channel became Oklahoma Weather Tracker TV, launching in May of the same year.  Since its initial launch, Oklahoma Weather Tracker TV became a reliable source for Oklahomans to view live Oklahoma weather forecasts and live Oklahoma severe weather coverage featuring storm trackers in the field, producing live images of weather events.

During the Summer of 2019 it was decided that after four years of success with Oklahoma Weather Tracker TV it was time to take the company’s brand of weather coverage, mobile app, and streaming system to a much larger market where they would be able to continue to provide even more people with daily forecasts and lifesaving severe weather information.  Being familiar with the area and people of Texas made moving to the DFW metroplex an easy choice.

On June 1st 2019 Oklahoma Weather Tracker TV became Texas Weather Tracker TV and relocated its studios in the West Love Field area of Dallas, Texas.  Texas Weather Tracker TV is a 24/7 digital TV weather channel that services North Texas as a live video channel but also through digital content on the Texas Weather Tracker TV mobile app and website.

Texas Weather Tracker TV's coverage area includes the traditional Dallas-Fort Worth market but also parts of the Wichita Falls market with a combined 8 million households.  The DFW media market is ranked fifth nationally and the Roku TV market is ranked second nationally.  Texas Weather Tracker TV is available worldwide on Roku TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, YouTube and on the Texas Weather Tracker TV mobile app.

William and the Texas Weather Tracker TV team are committed to continuing to innovate and lead the way for non-traditional media for North Texas and beyond.
